Apple PowerBook G3 400 - 500 MHz [Pismo w/FireWire] models These Apple models share similar physical processor daughter board assembly architecture, carrying memory expansion sockets for the main memory expansion of the system. The processor board has two memory slots; one on the top of the processor board and one under the processor card. This processor daughter card carrying two memory slots is connected or mounted via connectors to the logic board of the system. This processor board is also enclosed in a cage or by a metallic fence and covered with a cover plate serving as a heat shield for the heat dissipated by the system's processor. Note: The memory modules for the PowerBook G3 400-500 Mhz [Pismo w/ FireWire Port models are electrically different than earlier PowerBook G3 [Wallstreet or lombard models]. Although they share similar physical architecture, they have different memory specifications. You should order memory for the model of the computer you wish to upgrade. |

To install the memory module in the top slot; you not need to remove the processor daughter card from the logic board. To install the memory module in the bottom slot the processor daughter card needs to be removed.
